Just been on an eBay spending spree, managed to spend 3 weeks wages :)

Got a nifty converted Nokia PMR unit that transmits up to 25W on 2 metres, meaning I can now operate something other than QRP on both VHF and UHF now!

Also picked up a PMR handheld for UHF – totally programmable between 400 and 470 MHz so I can use it for 70cm (and also PMR 446 when I’m on holiday… I think my bloody expensive official Yaesu hands-free kit for my VX-1 will fit). 2.5W, so I should hopefully be able to hit a few repeaters a bit better now. Still limited to 0.5W mobile on VHF, though :(

Should be taking my Intermediate exam soon too, so I can actually legally use above 10W…

Now all I need to do is get my cable soldered so I can actual connect this stuff to my antenna and I’m all sorted!
