laser's American diary woo!

Monday, fly Contential to Newark Liberty and get to the airport. Spend about 30 minutes trying to figure out how to dial the UK on my calling card and give up, as it thinks Waller’s number is a Bermuda One Mobile number and Koke’s isn’t recognised (I lost ssmmdd’s :\). We did some sightseeing, Ground Zero, China Town and so on. We went to this cool restaurant called the Jekyl and Hyde club, which was quite cool.

Tuesday was another sight seeing day however my Dad read something in a guide book about how to dial the UK from an American phone. Basically you have to dial 01144, instead of the usual method of dialling 0044, as used EVERYWHERE ELSE, so I got in touch with Koke who told me that the e-mail was playing up and then got Waller to disconnect off the Internet so I could ring him (Exim doesn’t read the virtual users table, which I used to store any non-standard aliases, instead of /etc/aliases, although I didn’t know this at the time, I just told Waller to check Exim and ipop3d was running). God, America sucks. We went to see various things and I went shopping to a cool store called Kinokuniya Books, where I picked up the whole set of Azumanga Daioh manga and Newtype USA. We did some more sight-seeing and went to Forbidden Planet in Greenwich Village. My Dad picked up some Marvel comics and I got the first 3 books of Cowboy Bebop manga.

Then it started to rain so we went to a cinema and saw I, Robot. Which rocks tbfh! We then had a McDonald’s for tea and retired back to the hotel.

Wednesday was a 4am rising time to go to JFK airport to catch a flight to Buffalo in north New York. We then had a tour around Niagra Falls, which was fun. It’s quite a sight. I think I got some good photos and I might upload them later.

Thursday was a travelling day, we flew from JFK to Orlanda and drove to our house here, where we just did sitting around the house stuff for the day.

Yesterday I went to Disney Magic Kingdom with my brothers, my brother’s ex-girlfriend and her brother, which was kind of fun.

Today, we went to Seaworld this morning, which was alright. Dolphins rock. So do penguins! It’s just started raining here, and we’ve got the Gray’s (Peter’s ex-gf’s family) coming round for tea in about an hours time.

More and pictures coming soon…
